About Pisco specifically
2007 earthquake destroyed 80% of Pisco — families still live in precarious temporary housing nearly 20 years later
No reliable water, sanitation or electricity in many of the peripheral neighborhoods we serve
Child malnutrition is chronic — many children arrive at school without having eaten breakfast

Our journey
How we've grown year by year
2020
Founded in faith
Bright Smiles International was established with a clear calling: to serve the most vulnerable children in Pisco. We launched our first education program with 20 children in one neighborhood.
2021
Health program launched
Responding to visible malnutrition among enrolled children, we launched our Health & Nutrition program — partnering with local clinics to provide regular checkups and daily meals for 80 children.
2022
Expanding to 3 neighborhoods
With growing donor support, we expanded to 3 neighborhoods and launched Recreation & Integration activities — giving children safe spaces to play, create, and belong.
2023
Family Support program added
Recognizing that children cannot thrive without stable families, we launched our Family & Community Support program — reaching over 200 families with emergency aid, counseling, and parenting workshops.
2024
8,000+ lives impacted
Operating across 12 communities with all 4 programs running simultaneously, we reached our biggest milestone — 8,000+ children and family members touched by our work. And we're growing.
